Biography
Corrinne Vilcaz
Corinne Vilcaz is an artist with an imagination free of the constraints of modern classical form. Her works are often comprised of vibrant colors contrasted against a heavy use of palette knife. Instead of having a focus on the representation of actual shapes, Vilcaz emphasizes the importance of color in bringing forth the true form of art. "Through a search for constant purification, her work gives to see what is not defined and which is not detailed, with the profit of a deliberately suggested vision."
Working in the Batch & Garonne region of France, Corinne Vilcaz takes her inspiration largely from her surroundings. Vilcaz creates canvasses that inspire thoughts of nautical adventures and that capture the essence of the impermanence of nature. Her concentration on matter and texture bring forth the image, producing lasting impressions in the eye of the viewer, and revealing a “contemporary realization” of modern impressionism.
Corinne Vilcaz has been the recipient of major awards such as the 1st Prize at the Clairac Salon International de peinture (October 2002), the Prize for New Talent at the Salon d’automne de Pau (November 2001), and the Bronze medal from the Chamberry La Ravoire (December 2000). She is an active member of the Order of Arts and Letters of France, and is represented in art galleries in France, Europe, and the United States.
Gallerie Je Reviens is proud and honored to present the art of Corinne Vilcaz for your viewing pleasure and consideration.
